Summer is coming to an End

Hey Flykids!
Im here enjoying my last couple days without school.
I went clothing shopping - ordered some supplies from office max and have spent the week getting ready for school to start. Every morning I have gotten up at 7:30 and gotten dressed, made my bed, etc. I think this will be really helpful as I will already kind of be in the routine of getting up early (I know its only 7:30 but to me that is early - sad I know.)

This is my routine right now:

Make Bed

Get Dressed

Do Hair

Deodorize, spray, and Make up

Brush Teeth

Breakfast

Devotions

School starts @ 8:30

It is simple but it gets me ready for the day and keeps me from getting distracted.

Things I am nervous about:
Highschool
Highschool
Did I mention I am nervous about highschool?
Geometry
Spanish

Thats about it. I am nervous for Geometry because 1. I got an A in Algebra last year but just barely and I struggled alot. Then I am nervous for Spanish because I havent used more than 5 words in spanish this summer - I forget tons of what I learned :& Yup so thats why I am nervous about that. Oh and nervous for highschoool because well why shouldnt I be? I mean with electives I am in classes with grades 9-12th which means ages anywhere from 13-20 (Im the only 13 year old but whatever..) That is a reallly wide age group and because I am the youngest in my classes it makes it even stranger. Ill be fine though just needed to write down my thoughts. Thanks for listening/reading - I appreciate it !

Hey Flykids!
I would normally leave the organization part of this whole blog to Flykid Jess (AKA the other side of my brain because my brain is made up of crafts and organization) , but because it had to do with organizing craft supplies I though I would share this.

My Onenote Control Journal

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening :D
Here is a tour of what my digital control journal looks like.

Quotes make me happy (for the most part) I dont know why but they inspire me - thats why I have some on each page:)
My favorite though is Today you are you that is truer than true there is no one alive that is youer than you. There is just something about that quotes that makes me smile (Dr.Seuss Magic I guess ;) ) Here you have it a checklist with my Morning Routine and quotes.
My During School routine isnt so much a routine as much as reminders. Then I have quotes. My second favorite quote would have to be "She turned her CANTS into CANS and her DREAMS into PLANS " Ahh I am just in love with quotes at the moment. :D

I have yet to do my Before Bed Routine but I will update this post in a little while when I do that.

School Year Update

Hey Flykids!

Here is how back to school season is going for me:

Got my laptop from the school, broke it (Yes I broke it- it was an accident and I feel really ridiculous.)

They replaced it (Yahoo!!) I got it today :)

Went on a little vacation to the lake.

Thats about it - I am hoping to do some back to school shopping soon but our school changed completely so we really dont know what we'll need or whats going on (I really do not like this because I like to be in control and know what is going on but I dont so it makes me feel a little insecure and kind of scared about this school year. Especially since this is my first year in High School)

How is it going for you?
                                     XOXO

Microsoft OneNote and Planners

Hey Flykids!

I have yet to figure out exactly how this program is going to work for me since I havent started school yet. Also a note that I have not been payed or asked to write this blogpost this is just a program I have found on my computer and it seems it may be of great use to me. I am going to try using the program first (because I am so excited about using this program!) and then depending on how that works I will try the pen and paper method. I have tried the Pen and Paper and it works good but I want it to work great!
First of all for those of you who dont know what  onenote is , it is like a virtual binder. This is what it looks like:

Photo Credit : Microsoft Onenote 2010
In onenote you have binders. In those binders you have tabs. In those tabs you have pages. You can draw, type, insert photos, links, grids, checklists, highlight, insert videos, and insert a file. For example if you have a PPT for a class and notes , you link the ppt to the page and type your notes on that page. If there it is a lecture or a review and you choose to record the class you can record it and then link it there.

This video is very helpful! ^

Like I said more photos when school starts.
                                                          XOXO,

Special Edition: Back To School 2012

Hey Flykids! Here is a round up of some tips and tricks for back to school time!

2 weeks before school starts:

  • Start going to bed 5 minutes earlier every night until you reach your school bedtime.
  • Start getting up and dressed 5 minutes earlier every morning

Tips and Tricks from the Flychat:

  • Go Back to School Shopping in August (or the month before school starts rather than the week before)
  • Prep before hand 2 weeks worth of outfits down to your accessories.
  • Make a special spot for school items and make sure they get there. This way you wont have to search for everything.
  • Get into a routine of going to bed on time, setting your alarm, and waking up and getting dressed. When you do this it will become a habit and when school starts you will be all ready and wont be tired.
  • Use a planner or agenda! (Once school starts I will do a show and tell of my planner! ( I am using a plain old notebook!)
  • If possible try to have your own drawer for your school supplies.
  • Buy a few extras of essential items such as notebooks, notebook paper, pencils,  folders, and erasers.
  • If you have girls (or are a girl) make sure to have lots of hairbrushes around and put 1 on your launchpad so you wont have to search!

Fabric Scrapbook wall art

Hey FLykids!
Lots ofs fun in ths post! This sounds lame but I am excited for this post because it is completely my idea! With 2 tricks from pinterest  (The fact that fabric can iron right onto walls and you can use nail polish to paint scotch tape. Otherwise this idea is completely mine! :D

Supplies:
Fabric (Denim or Cotton*)
Hot Glue Gun
Buttons and other embellishments
Nail Polish
Scotch Tape
Photo(s)
Hot Iron
Scissors or Rotary cutter and mat

Step 1: Cut your fabric so that your picture(s) will fit with ease.

Step 2: I ron the fabric to the wall. This must be done now before you put anything on the fabric.

Step 3: paint your scotch tape with the nailpolish color of your choice. Allow to dry.

Step 4: Cut scotch tape in approx. 1 1/2" inch strips.
I ended up cutting them a little shorter than this.

Step 5: Tape the pictures in the desired spots on the fabric. See photo below.
FIRST put tape in all four corners - than put it on the fabric.

Step 6: Hot glue any embleishments to the fabric (Other fabric, buttons, etc.)

The fabric stuck to the wall and then decided to not stick anymore so I had to tape it to the wall. It was strange because it would stick and then fall off.

I cut out a J and ironed it to the wall just for decoration.

* I have not tried ironing silk or jersey knit to the wall but I dont think it will stay let me know if you try either one and how it works or doesnt work. i have used cotton and a stretchyish  semi-stretchy denim.

There you have it! A project and tutorial all my own !

Let me know how it goes. I would love to hear how you did this, was it simple or hard, were my directions good, what did you use to embelish? Feel free to comment and if you would like share a picture od the fabric scrapbook wall art you made. You can send your pictures to flykidme@gmail.com.
                                                Have Fun!
